Questions

1. Why do many students think that science subjects are more important?
   Many students believe that studying science subjects would help them get into professional studies like medicine, engineering or accounting. Also, many think that only intelligent people can do well in science subjects.  

2. What are the advantages of studying language and arts subjects?
   Studying language and arts subjects would help us understand different aspects of the world and society and even enjoy life more.  

3. What may happen if students study mostly science subjects?
    If students confine their learning to science subjects, I’m afraid their vision of the world would be narrow and could not look at problems from every aspect.

Individual Response

1. If you were a parent, would you encourage your children to study science subjects?
    I would definitely let my children make their own choices. I believe they will make good progress in the subjects they like.

2. How would school promote arts or liberal subjects like History and Geography?
   The school could hold interesting events like cultural festivals, exhibitions and visits to arouse students’ interest and help them understand the value of arts subjects.  

3. What advice would you give to F.3 students on choosing NSS elective subjects?
   I would advise F.3 students to have a good understanding of the subjects they are going to choose and seek advice from teachers and upper form students.

4. If you intend to go to university, which subject would you choose to study?
   As a science student with good grades in mathematics, my preference is engineering programmes in university. I wish to equip myself with practical knowledge and useful skills to develop my career in engineering.

5. What would life become if nobody learned to play music, create artwork or write novels?
   I'm afraid the world would become less colourful and life would be dull to death. Without artistic expressions, people can't enjoy their lives to the full.
