What are the common family problems in Hong Kong?
The common family problems in Hong Kong are poverty, poor living environment, domestic violence, marital discord, child behaviour and emotional problems.
2. What negative influences family problems might have on teenagers?
Family problems will deprive teenagers of family love and support. This will adversely affect their healthy mental development. They will feel insecure and have low self-worth and confidence. These teenagers are often involved in drug and behavioural problems.
3. What teenagers should do to cope with family problems?
To cope with family problems, teenagers should decrease negative thoughts about themselves. They should build a network of friends who help them cope in a positive way. They can also seek help from professionals like social workers or teachers.

Do you have family problems?
Fortunately, I don't have any family problems because I have caring and understandable parents. We often spend time together and have good communication.
2. What are some of the causes of family problems?
Family problems are mostly caused by money problems which lead to tension and arguments between family members. Many other things can also cause family problems, such as illness, addiction, job loss, school problems, and marital issues.
3. Do you think there are now more family problems than there were ten years ago?
Surely, there are more family problems nowadays as the family situation is becoming more stressful. Difference in personalities and values, change in family circumstances and financial problems often give rise to family problems.
4. What would you do if you found out that your friend was a drug addict?
I would ask my friend to seek help from professionals and begin treatment.
5. What do you think schools should do to help fight teenage crimes?
Schools may help develop values and skills that can prevent students from engaging in criminal activities. Schools also get students more involved in sports, community service or other positive activities. Young people with positive outlets for their energy are less likely to commit crimes.
