Questions
1.
What are the possible benefits of participating in sport?
Participating in sport can be fun, enhance health of the body and mind, and develop discipline and leadership skills.
2.Why are some students reluctant to participate in sport?
Some students are not interested in physical activity. They don't want to devote the time and effort in sport. Health problems and study pressure also keep away some students from taking part in active sports.
3. What can be done to encourage more students to participate in sport?
The school can tell students about the health benefits of sports and then introduce them to as many different sports as possible, let them discover the ones they enjoy most, then give them every encouragement.
Individual Response
1.
Do you play or take part in any sport?
I play basketball to keep fit and develop self-discipline. Basketball also helps me make new friends and improve my social skills.
2.
What sport or sports would you suggest to students to help with study stress?
I think team sports like football and basketball could help students ease study stress. Team sports are not only fun, but also help students build self-confidence, and develop skills to handle competitive situations.
3.What are the pros and cons of students taking part in sport?
Sports activities provide an outlet for students to grow and develop physically, mentally and emotionally. But injuries can arise without proper guidance.
4. How can participation in sport help improve personal development?
Participation in sport helps students become more responsible, self-motivated and disciplined. Skills -- such as attitude control and time management -- are also learned and developed.
5. If you were asked to suggest things your school could do to increase student participation in sport, what would you suggest?
Provide students with non-traditional sports and physical activities such as hip hop dance or rock climbing to encourage greater participation. Use incentives like certificates, T-shirts, posters and group photos to encourage participation.
