The Worst Nightmare

Wong Siu Man (3A1)

Last night, I had the worst nightmare of my life. In my dream, it was strange that I was on a deserted island. It was late at night and the sky was dark grey. I didn't know why I was there. I looked everywhere but there was not anyone. I began to feel lonely and frightened.

Suddenly, there was a hungry monster. It was very ugly. It had big eyes, long curly hair like a mop, and a big dirty mouth with sharp teeth. Its hands and feet were very big with sharp long claws. Even its skin looked like a lizard. It was very terrible. I was so scared when I saw it. I ran away immediately. The monster ran towards me. I ran very fast. But it was fast, too. I ran to the shore and fell into water. I was so tired that the monster caught me tightly with its big hand. It lifted me up. I was so scared that I kept screaming for help but no one came to help me. It opened its mouth and stretched out its long tongue. It wanted to eat me. I knew I would die. I closed my eyes and prayed to God.

At that time, I opened my eyes. There was a hand touching me, but it was not the monster's. It was mother's hand. Mother was standing next to me. It was not the monster that caught me. My Goodness, I was still alive. I was very happy that it was just a nightmare.

A Friendly Letter

Wong Siu Man (3A1)

Dear Susan,

I have received your letter. I am sorry to hear that you are very unhappy, but don't be so upset. I will help you.

My daily life is mostly the same as yours. However, I join some activities, like violin and guitar classes. That is my hobby. I feel happy about it. On Saturdays and Sundays, I usually play basketball in the morning. Sometimes I go out to watch a film or sing karaoke with friends. Sometimes when I am at home myself, I don't feel bored. I listen to music and read some books. I enjoy being alone and enjoy the quiet moment.

I think it is boring to live like you. If you want to live happily, remember to do the things you want. Don't study all the time. Give yourself more time to be with friends or learn something you like. The on-line course is useful. The Internet is interesting to surf and the computer games are fun to play. You can try them. You can join some extra curricular activities. Then you can make many more friends.

In my past summer holiday, I read many books and did some courses. You have wasted your holiday; never mind, it is important for you to do better in the future.

I hope you will live more happily and have a wonderful life.

Love,
Jim

An Unusual Dream

Hung Suet Ying (3A1)

Dear Jack,

I can't wait to tell you the dream I had last night. It was so special. In the dream, I became a flying puppy. I was one year old. I was a white lovely puppy but I had two wings on my back. I could fly freely in the sky like a bird so it was difficult for people to catch me.

I had a pretty mother, a handsome father, a kind sister and some naughty brothers. They were all usual puppies. Every day we played happily. Our favourite game was hide-and-seek. I used to win the game easily as it was not difficult for me to catch them.

One day, a little girl caught me and brought me to her home. She was not a good master. She hit me hard and treated me badly. Soon I was ill. Her father brought me to a strange building where there were many animals in it.

When I woke up, I felt horrible. I was in a big cage. Many people stood in front of me. They were unkind people and they threw some rubbish to me. My illness became worse. I tried to fly but the things they threw at me made me drop on the ground. Tears fell from my eyes. 'No!' I cried loudly. I flew and bit the cage but I was not able to open it. People in front of me all laughed.

'Shirley, what's the matter?' my mother said. I opened my eyes and felt happy at once as I was in my bedroom. That was a terrible nightmare and I didn't like it.

Jack, have you ever had such a bad dream? Please write to me.

Love,

Shirley

Letter of Reply

Wong Pik Chun (3A2)

Dear Susan,

I am happy to receive your letter. I know you are unhappy. I hope I can help you to solve your problem.

I usually return home from school at 5 pm. Then, I do my homework, watch T.V. and play on the computer. At 11 pm, I go to bed. On Saturdays and Sundays, I revise my books for about 3 to 4 hours. Sometimes, I watch T.V. and read storybooks, so I never feel dull.

Last summer holiday, I bought a computer. It is convenient to use. The Internet is exciting to surf and I can get information quickly and easily. I am studying an on-line course. I make a lot of friends there. It is interesting for you to learn. The tutors are always able to tell you how to use the computer. I think you must not spend all the time revising your books. You can access the Internet to make new friends, go shopping with your friends and join activities.

I hope these ideas can help you. If you are still unhappy, please write to me.

Love,
Jim

The Worst Nightmare

Li Kam Pui (3A2)

Last night, I had the worst nightmare of my life. I dreamt that I was walking in a castle. The castle was very dark and terrible.

When I was walking in the castle, suddenly a monster was running towards me. The monster had a big eye. His hair was very long and his hair was all green. He had a big mouth with four sharp teeth; his hand and legs were very rough and long. When I saw such a horrible monster running toward me, I felt very frightened.

I ran very fast in the castle and I kept screaming for help but nobody could help me. Suddenly I saw a river in front of me. So I jumped into the river to run away from the monster but I could hardly move. I was afraid that the monster would catch me.

Then the monster said, 'Do not worry. I am an orphan; I have no friends. I want you to be my friend.' After that, I felt a little relieved but also frightened. I didn't want to make friends with him. But I am afraid that if I said 'no' he would eat me.

When I thought about that, I woke up because my mother called me to go to school. I thought there were some special meanings in this nightmare because I had few friends in school; I thought that the monster should be myself.

An adventure at night

Chung Pik Kan (3A2)

It was very late at night. Peter and Paul were walking home after a film show when they saw a men climbing through the window of a house.

Peter asked Paul who that man was. Paul said that he was a burglar. Peter asked Paul what they should do and Paul told Peter to call the police at once. Then Peter went to a telephone box and Paul remained behind, because he kept watching the man.

Then, a policeman came and Peter told the policeman that he saw a man climb through the window of a house and went into the house. Peter said that his friend was then watching the burglar .The policeman followed Peter to the house and he knocked on the door . A man opened the door of the house.

The policeman asked man,"What is you name? Why did you climb through the window? Show me your I.D. card, please." The man said that his name was Sam and that night he forgot to bring the key so he had to climb through the window. Then, Sam took out his I.D. card.

At last, the policeman scolded the two boys because they mistook the man as a burglar.

Dear Susan,

have received your letter. I understand you are depressed and unhappy. I know many television programmes are boring and you have no friends. You always feel dull and helpless.

I am very pleased with my life. Usually. I come home from school at 4p.m, do homework, take a bath, watch television and play computer games.

On Saturdays, I go jogging in the morning. Sometimes I play badminton with my family. Then I read the comics and do my homework. After that, I also help my mother to do the housework.

On Sundays, I go to church with my family. We visit my grandmother and grandfather once a week.

I have bought a personal computer. I took part in a computer course during the summer holiday. It is interesting to learn how to surf the Internet and download resources. I like playing I.C.Q. most.

In your spare time, you should take part in the activities that you like, for example playing tennis or basketball, etc. At home you can learn with the help of computer. You can go to chatroom and send e-mail to your friends. I am sure your life will not be dull.

The Pet

Annie Wong Hiu Ling (3B2)

My name is Annie Wong. I am fourteen. I am a student and I am very patient. I live in a big house, which has a garden in it. I spend much time at home. My parents are very nice and they love pets very much.

Among dogs, birds and chinchillas, I like dogs the most. Dogs are the biggest among them. They are cheaper then birds but more expensive then chinchillas. Birds are the noisiest and dogs are quieter than the birds.

I choose dogs because they are very cute. I like being quiet and they make little noise. I need some companions to play with me. I have a big garden, so I can play with them there. Dogs need some space for them to run. Moreover, they help me to watch my house. I usually take them for a walk after school.

The Worst Nightmare

Leung Wing Yan (3C1)

Last night, I had the worst nightmare of my life.

I was going to the library in the evening because I wanted to borrow three books. I didn't know why it was not the usual route I went to the library. Maybe it was a short cut that I had discovered recently. The path was very quiet. I went there all by myself. I could see no one on the way. I was going very fast.

Suddenly I heard something moving very fast behind me. I turned around and I saw a very big creature there. It was chasing after me. It was very dark and I could not see it. I tried my best to run away from it. Then I reached the river. I ran into the water. I tried hard to escape from the monster. It was not easy to run away. I felt I could hardly walk at all because I was lifted up high in the air. I struggled violently. I saw the monster clearly then. It was a really big thing. It had one yellow eye. The whole body and face were ugly. It had strong, short arms and legs. It was very fearful so I screamed loudly. It opened its mouth. Its mouth was big and ugly. I could see its sharp front teeth.

The monster said, "I'm hungry, I will eat you". I was very frightened but nobody came to help me, so I struggled violently and said "Please, don't eat me".

Then I fainted. I didn't know how long I lost my sense. "Hey, it's time to get up. "I heard somebody cry loudly. I opened my eyes. It was my mother. I was happy to see my mother again. I ate a lot of food and drinks.

 The Worst Nightmare

Last night, I had the worst nightmare of my life.

In the nightmare, I was walking home late at night.  I did not know why it was not the usual route I took to go home.  May be it was a short cut that I had discovered recently.  The path was quiet.  Suddenly, I heard something move very fast behind me.  I turned around and saw a very big thing.  I saw a monster.  It was walking after me.  I tried my best to run away from it but it tried its best to catch me, too.

Suddenly, I saw the sea.  I ran to the sea.  I ran into the water but it ran into the water, too.  It was difficult to run away.  I felt I could hardly walk because I was lifted up high in the air.  I struggled violently but the monster caught me very violently, too.  I saw it very clearly then.  It had long strong arms and its legs looked like the frog’s legs.  It was very terrible, so I screamed loudly.  It opened its mouth.  I could see its sharp and long teeth.  It was going to swallow me.  I fainted at once!

“I will bite you, swallow you and hit you,” the monster said.  At that time, I was very frightened but none was around me.  So I hit its arms very hard and kicked its mouth but it did not feel painful.  I was very frightened and I fainted at once.  At that time, I heard someone say, “Kin, wake up now, wake up…”

I gained my sense again.  My mother was shouting at me and pushing me hard.  I immediately woke up.  I was very happy to see her.  She told me to go to school.  Thanks God!  It was only a dream!

 A Friendly Letter

 Dear Susan,

Thank you very much for your letter.  It arrived three days ago.  I was very glad to receive it.  I miss you very much.  But at the same time, I am worried about you because you have been so depressed recently.  Anyway, take care of yourself.

My daily life and pastime are very simple.  I go to school every day.  My friends and I usually play tennis in spare time.  I like to go to the library.  I often read books, magazines and study in the libraries.  The library is the best place to study because it is so quiet.

In summer holidays, I like to go camping and swimming.  Camping is one of the few things that I really enjoy in life.  I feel great to get out of the city and go to the mountains.  The air is so clean and fresh and there is no pollution.  Everyone likes to go to the beach to lay in the sun and play in the water.  I like it, too.  It’s also fun to put on goggles and flippers and go swimming under the water.  Along the beach there are many different kinds of shells.  It’s fun to walk along the beach and look for shells.

You can go to the library, too.  There are also many other services in the libraries.  You can also listen to music or watch television programmes that they have.  You can play bowling at your leisure time.  It is healthy.  I support you forever.

 Love,

Jim

My Pet and I

My pet is a bird.  Its name is called “Sporty”.  I like it very much.  I give it a good home because it has its own cage.  It is easy to take care of.  It has blue eyes.  Its hair is white.  It is very cheerful and intelligent.  The bird sings beautifully.  It can give the person pleasure.

My pet usually sings every day.  It can learn tricks.  It is polite and kind.  My friends like it very much.  Although I usually go to school, I will lock up the cage.  It is so brave and friendly that every one likes it.

I don’t like to keep dogs and chinchillas because dogs may bite people and it looks bored.  It needs too much care and attention and needs plenty of room.  Chinchillas are very shy but friendly.  It is easy to look after and it does not need any exercise.  However, it cannot learn tricks.  It looks clumsy.

Dear Susan,

Thank you for your letter.  I received it yesterday.  I am unhappy to know that you are so worried.  Cheer up!  Be happy!  I am going to give you some advice and suggestions.  I hope I can help you.

I usually go out with my friends.  After school, I come home at half past four.  Then I will take a bath, do homework, read a novel or comic, watch television and go to bed.  On holidays, I like to go to libraries and go shopping with my friends.  So I feel very happy on holidays.

In summer holidays, I join a school holiday course and go camping.  Besides, I go swimming, climbing, cycling and play other sports.  Not only I travel in Tokyo but also go to Disneyland, too.  I could visit Mickey and Minnie mouse so I feel very happy this holiday.

In summer holidays, I hope to learn something to enrich myself, so I won’t waste my time.  Finally, I hope you can be hardworking and make some friends.

Please write to me.  I hope my opinion can help you.  BYE!

My Pet and I

I keep a pet dog because my family and I liked dogs very much.  My dog is very cute.  It has beautiful hair and a short tail.  It has big round eyes, too.

When I go home from school every day, I go jogging and I don’t mind taking it out.  I also wash it every day.  I think it is a brave dog and I am proud of it.  I always teach it some tricks.

There are two things which I cannot forget.  Once a boy took my bag and my dog barked and chased him.  The boy was so frightened that he ran away.  The second time is I lost my purse and it helped me find it because it could smell the purse.

My family sometimes also plays with it.  My brother taught it some tricks.  Moreover, it learnt faster than other dogs.  On Sundays or holidays, I take it out to my friends’ homes and sometimes I took it to the beach and we would go jogging.

My dog likes playing but it is not naughty.  I think my dog is the best pet.  Do you want to keep one?

 A Personal Letter

 Dear Susan,

Thank you for your letter.  I'm glad that you have confided your problems to me.  But at the same time, I'm worried about you  because you have been so depressed recently.

I usually take part in extra-curricular activities after school.  Sometimes, I go to the computer room to get on-line.  After getting home at about 5 p.m., I'll do my homework and help my mother to do the housework.  After dinner, I'll watch TV, listen to music and then go to bed.  On Saturdays and Sundays, I often stay at home and revise my books.  I sometimes go out with my parents or friends.

During the last summer holiday, I attended a computer course.  The instructor taught me a lot about the Internet.  Getting on-line is really interesting.  I also learned to send e-mail messages to my friends.  In fact, it is common for me to send e-mail rather than letters now.

Finally, let me give you some suggestions.  I hope you'll find them useful.  First of all, you can attend a computer course so that you will learn some computer knowledge.  Surfing the Internet is great fun.  Besides, you should join in more school activities and make friends with your schoolmates.

I must stop writing now.  Drop me a line when you have time.                                                                                  Love,

 Jim

 The Worst Nightmare

Last night, I had the worst nightmare of my life.  In my dream, I was playing with some people whom I could not see their faces clearly.  Suddenly they disappeared and I couldn't find them any longer.

Then I found myself walking alone on a beach.  I didn't know why I was there.  I saw something far away form me.  When I got nearer and nearer it, I knew what it was.  Oh! It was a monster.  It looked like a tall building.  It turned back and looked at me.  My god!  It looked very awful.  Its hair was like thousands of worms. The one and only one eye was as large as my head. The tongue was green and long. The teeth and the finger-nails were very sharp.

It saw me and ran towards me.  I was too frightened to run away.  It caught me.  I screamed and cried: 'Is anyone here?  Help!  Help! ...' Shut up! 'said the monster loudly. 'I think you would be a good dinner to me, ha ha ha... ' Its mouth smelt very terrible. 'Please don't eat me!' I cried.  When it was going to put me into its mouth, a Super-woman appeared.  She said: 'Girl, get up! It's time to go to school now!'

I opened my eyes. My mother was standing beside me.  She said: 'Girl, get up! It's time to go to school now!' My mother just looked like that Super-woman in my dream.  I was waken up by my mother, and my mother was indeed the Super-woman who saved me from the terrible nightmare.

A Friendly Letter

Dear Susan,

Time flies! We have not seen each other for two months. I'm so happy to receive your letter. Now I understand your problems. I will try to solve your problems.

You know, I'm a form 3 student, so I must work hard to get to form 4, and I also work hard to get to university. After school, I do my homework and revise every day. It is necessary for me to study hard. I go to restaurant with my family each weekend and sometimes we go out for picnic. It is enjoyable for us to go to the countryside.

Last summer holiday, my family had a good time on holiday. We left for Japan in August for a week. It is a very beautiful country and the Japanese are very friendly. I have made a Japanese friend. Now, we are pen-friends. I also learnt a computer course. It is helpful to my studies.

I think I can help you with your problems. I believe it is easy to improve your life. After school, you can get on-line. It is interesting for you to do it. You can talk with them through e-mail. On Saturdays and Sundays, you should go out more with friends. You should do sports, for example, fishing, swimming, running …… . It is healthy for you to do more exercise. I hope you find my advice useful.

Please write to me. I'm looking forward to your letter.

Love,
Tom

The Worst Nightmare

Last night, I had the worst nightmare in my life. In my dream I was running. I couldn't see anybody. Suddenly, I saw a monster. It had long hair, a big mouth and big eyes. It looked very horrible.

The monster ran towards me. It wanted to catch me. I ran faster and faster. I felt very frightened. Afterwards, I reached a river and I wanted to jump into it. However, when I was about to jump, the monster caught me. “Oh! Bad Luck!” I screamed with terror. “Help! Help! Is anybody here? I need help! There is a monster here. It is trying to kill me!” I tried to struggle but I could hardly move.

I shouted again. “Help! If anybody is here, please come and help me! Help! Oh, I don’t want to die! I still have many things to do. Please don’t eat me, Mr. Monster!”

“Shut up!” the monster shouted. “You need not shout. Nobody is here. Nobody can help you. I am going to eat you. I am very hungry.” It began to put me into its mouth. I was crying and shivering. I prayed to God at that moment. I thought, “Oh! My life is over. I can’t see my family again.”

Just when it was putting me into its mouth, I heard my mother call me. “Wake up, Shuen! You are going to be late for school.” she said. I was woken up by her. Then I understood it was a dream. I said to myself, “Thank goodness. I am still alive!”

The Work of an Air Stewardess

The work of an air stewardess can be very interesting. Firstly, flying is very exciting to her and it is a challenging, refreshing, and exciting career. Being an air stewardess can be fruitful. She can visit different places and meet different people in various countries. She can see different traditions more easily than other people. Besides, she can go shopping in department stores in different countries when she is free. However, she needs to learn new languages.

For her benefits, she enjoys free or reduced rate travel. She has an attractive salary. Her airline company offers her a lot of fringe benefits like medical and dental assistance scheme, a retirement bonus, etc.

Anyway, she will meet troublemakers on board. They are nasty and they may lose their tempers easily such as Cheng's Incident. She sometimes meets other passengers who request special service. For example, old people on their own need assistance with their luggage, some babies need milk or nappies and so on. When she faces emergency such as bad weather or engine trouble, she needs to take care of the passengers. When there is an emergency landing, the captain and the crew should not leave the plane first.

She must help them. Old people on their own need help with their luggage. In addition, babies need milk or nappies. It isn’t an easy job at all.

Sometimes, an air stewardess has to face some dangers. During emergency or when there is an engine trouble, she has to take risk. She must make sure that all passengers are safely seated with their safety belts fastened. She has to ensure that safety rules are observed. The captain and the crew cannot leave the plane until the passengers are safe on ground.

So, think twice if you want to be an air stewardess.

A Robbery

This morning, I went to a restaurant to have breakfast with my family. My husband went out to buy a newspaper after we got a table near the door.

When my baby and I were waiting for my husband, I saw three men, who were all armed with guns, rushed into the restaurant quickly. One robber, a tall man with short brown hair, was dressed in a red T- shirt and blue jeans. He stood in front of me, ordering all of us not to move. The other two with big brown bags, tied up the staff and customers with a rope. A robber, who had a scar on his face, threatened a man to give him all his money. The man looked very frightened. Another robber told him to hurry up.

Suddenly, my baby cried. The robber, who was standing in front of me, told me to tell my baby to shut up. I feared that he would hurt my baby. I tried my best to make him sleep. I had never experienced such a threatening scene in my life. After that, the robbers escaped with the money and jewels.

Suddenly, I heard a lot of noise. A customer, who had given all his money to them, had arrested the three robbers. He was wearing a smile on his face. I knew he was a policeman.

It is then that I understand how effective our police force is.
