 Tomorrow
is the birthday of my cousin, Jane. I'm
here for her birthday party in her home in Shanghai. It's
a big house in the countryside. I
love it and I told my uncle so. He
smiled and said, ' It gets a bit tiring from time to time.' I
thought he sounded strange but I didn't say anything.
I
didn't sleep well last night. In
the middle of the night, I heard a noise in the empty room next door.
I
got out of bed to check. No
one was there, but I saw some words on the mirror: 'Under the apple
tree.' I
was shocked and ran out of the room to find my uncle. 'There
are some words on the mirror,' I cried. Strangely
enough, my uncle did not look surprised.
