People struggling to survive below the poverty line are living in conditions reminiscent of the 1960s and 70s, a survey revealed. The survey listed 10 ways poor people could save money, such as using kerosene stoves, washing clothes with a washboard, walking rather than using public transport and queuing for free rice during Chinese festivals.
