F.2 - Poem 16

May Flowers - Carrie Rasmussen - Listen

The flowers were all sleeping,

------You could not see one;

They waited for the raindrops

------And for a little sun.

The raindrops came in April,

------And gave the flowers a drink;

They knew they would be needed

------To make the flowers pink.

In May the sun shone brightly

------And warmed the earth and air,

It knew they must be warmer

------To grow the flowers fair.

The flowers came up slowly ¡V

------Just everywhere they grew;

There were so many around

------That we could pick a few.
